Looking for a fun and exciting way to spend your summer? Camp Pegnita is looking for enthusiastic and experienced individuals who enjoy working with children in the great outdoors.  Applicants must complete the mandatory training held the week before camp begins and commit to a predictable schedule before the start of summer.

Below, you will find a description of all our open positions.  Ready to apply?  Please complete the above application and questionnaire and email to camppegnita@villadimaria.org or mail to Camp Pegnita, 1280 Simmons Ave, Kirkwood, MO 63122.

Senior Counselor:  Camp Pegnita is looking for committed and fun Senior counselors who are 17 years of age or older, and have childcare experience.  Senior counselors are ultimately responsible for a group of 10-20 campers, but will work alongside at least one other staff member, depending on the age of the campers and the size of the group.  In addition to providing for the safety and supervision of the campers, the senior counselor is responsible for planning and leading age-appropriate and enjoyable activities for his/her campers, helping to "mentor" our counselors-in-training, attending camp events, and assisting in other staff tasks.  All counselors will attend an orientation week prior to the first week of camp, and will receive CPR certification during that time.

Junior Counselor:  Camp Pegnita is looking for committed and energetic Junior counselors between the ages of 15 and 16.  However, applicants under the age of 16 are required to have attended our Counselor Training Program during a previous summer.  The junior counselor is responsible for helping to supervise and care for his/her group of campers, but will work alongside at least one senior counselor.  In addition to providing for the safety and supervision of the campers, the junior counselor is responsible for helping to plan and lead age-appropriate and enjoyable activities for his/her campers, providing support to the senior counselor, attending camp events, and assisting in other staff tasks.  All counselors will attend an orientation week prior to the first week of camp, and will receive CPR certification during that time.

Lifeguard: Camp Pegnita is looking for committed lifeguards to provide a SAFE swimming experience at our on-site pool.  Lifeguards will also teach Red Cross swimming lessons for the first half of the day.  In addition to teaching and supervising at the pool, lifeguards are responsible for helping with pool maintenance throughout the summer.  All lifeguards must be certified prior to the beginning of camp, but the camp directors will work with applicants who are not yet certified to ensure that this requirement is met.
